Pointe and Repertoire

Pointe class:

It takes several years of training before a girl’s feet and legs are strong enough for her even to start work on full pointe. Only the teacher can determine whether a dancer’s ankles are well placed enough and sturdy enough to begin to practice pointe work. The muscles must be well trained to bear her weight correctly and she must have a sturdy and well placed back, as well as ankles capable of supporting the body correctly.

Advanced pointe students will learn repertoire from some of the world’s best loved classical ballets; solos, duets and corps de ballet work.
